I had convinced myself that I wasn't going to do any mods to my new Hoe till I got it paid off. Problem was I had a Corsa Sport CBE kit and a partial Spectre CAI sitting in my garage. I had decided I was going to sell my Corsa because it would not bolt on to my new truck since it was made for a 2000 tahoe.

While I was making room for the new truck in the garage, I got curious and called Corsa to see if there was much difference between the 2000's and the 2001-2006's. After a day they called back and said the only difference was a front pipe which they would be glad to send me for $75 bucks. Damnit! Now I had no excuse to sell it. So I ordered the part.

Then I called Spectre to see if they could send me a replacement heat shield for my CAI. They wanted $186 for the stupid thing. I told her I only paid $116 for the whole kit. Her reply shocked me. "Sounds like you would be better off buying the whole kit again." Wow. I was so pissed off that I drove to Advanced Auto Parts and bought the whole kit again. Take that Spectre.

So tonight I put on the CAI, and sat down to write this post. As I was typing, I thought to myself, I wonder if Justin with Blackbear will be coming down this way anytime soon. Turns out he will be in Dallas/Fort Worth in a month. Damnit damnit DAMnit!

So here it is two weeks since I bought the new Tahoe, I haven't even made my first payment yet, and I've already started. HID's, clear headlights and corners, and LED Tails are in the mail and I'm signed up for a tune next month. I'm so doomed.

Here are the pics I promised.

New headlights and clear corners complete with Low and High Beam HID's and the 4-High mod. LED's in the Parking/Turn signal and side marker are coming soon. You may also notice the vents in the center of the bumper have been opened up to let more air through.

Under the hood is a Spectre Cold Air Intake the custom painted engine cover. Soon the ECU will be flashed with a BlackBear Performance tune.

Radio antenna has been laid down in the engine bay and the plastic bezel with the antenna hole has been replaced for one without the hole.

Coming out the rear passenger side are the dual 4" chrome plated tips for the Corsa Sport Cat Back exhaust kit.

On top, the roof rack has be removed. I am in the process of getting the molding cut, pocketed and painted to cover the eyelets but the stock bolts have been removed and replaced with set screws wrapped with Teflon tape and topped off with a dab of silicone.

The interior is immaculate. Doesn't look like its had much use at all. Whoever had this vehicle before me took extremely good care of it.

Yeah I sure did. It wasn't like that on my 2000 but they relocated the horn (which is good) and all that molding and kinda filled in that huge hole in front of the fender. It didn't put up much of a fight though. Came out real easy.

I didn't notice that much difference with the CAI on the 2000 but on this truck (2003) I noticed a huge difference in throttle response. Not a lot of extra power...just a lot snappier. MPG's are up a little too.

Anyone know the part number for the AEM Dry Flow replacement filter for the Spectre CAI?

Oh and while I'm at it, does anyone need any replacement parts for a Spectre CAI. I've got 2 of everything except the heat shield. Parts are only a few months old.

I Love Corsa!

Got my front pipe in from them today. Thought it was going to take 2 or 3 weeks but they got it to me in 7 days. Just got done cutting off the stock exhaust and bolting in the Corsa Sport CBE. Ahhh...I'm home again.

Now If I can just get my subs back in there we'll be completely back to normal.

As soon as I get my HID's and LED Tails in, I'll take some pics for all to see. In one week my truck has gone from bone stock to custom.

I've become a modding MONSTER!!! Ah ha ha ha haaaa!

it happens to all of us! why spectre tho? just wondering..

It's Identical to the AEM Brute Force and half the price. Do you like your Volant CAI? I've heard some say the don't flow as well but I have no idea.

lol what color is Your Hoe?

Gold, but it looks tan in low light. I really liked the Pewter on my 2000 but the Gold has really grown on me. I'm waiting on some good weather here to get some decent pics to post.

BTW...I finally got my headlight and clear corners from my neighbor. The guy that lives there is cool as shit but his girlfriend is a royal PITA. I'm not sure I like these lights as much as the ones I had before. I'll have to see how they perform with the HID's when I get them installed.

Really considering HID fogs. Anyone have any advice?

HID's are in. Got them adjusted tonight and drove around. So far no one has flashed me and 2 cops passed without pulling me over so I guess they are ok. I followed my buddy Dave to Texas Roadhouse and he said they were fine. HID fogs should be here this week. After that its just the LED ambers up front and the BlackBear Performance Tune in July and I'm done.

Still gotta get my subs in but I don't really consider that a mod.

HID fogs came in and are installed. Love them. Looks way better than the halogens. Money well spent. If anyone is thinking of doing this...you won't regret it.
