="Yeah mine doesn't work either. I can change some of the parameters to get a reading but it's not accurate.

Mine comes back with a reading of A = -1

This has me curious. What year etc. Do you have?

I think I previously posted mine is a 2005 Yukon 5.3 .

I think GM changed to a different system (CAN bus) around '05, so PIDs that work on earlier vehicles are a bit different on newer vehicles.

But the real question is..... does it actually work???

Have you compared the engine oil life reading in torque pro to your DIC?
the engine oil life is based on a RPM counter not the mile..

It's actually based on a complex algorithm that takes into account many factors including mileage, RPM, oil temperature, etc.

James @swathdiver has posted about this before with more info.

I did but don't remember right now. I'll check tomorrow if there's time.
the problem is not using the correct oil..

most will pay for the cheapest crap they can buy
and then whine why did my engine blow up or AFM failed/VVT failed etc...

2011+ requires SN minimum SAE certified (dexos 1) /SN plus(dexos 1 gen2)
2005+ requires SM minimum (but might as well go SN/SN plus for a few pennies more.)

read the label very carefully

even if it says dexos 1 it may not meet the SN requirement

since gen2 dexos is SN plus

it has to say on the label SN or SN plus.

500 miles 90% oil life
