snap on and maybe some other higher end scanners, it's really hard to say if a scanner can read the bcm codes on a gm there are just too many out there now
there is a vxdiag which is usb and can be used with a variety manufacture software, but those are tricky to get set up, the software is chinese hacked oem software so the computer always thinks it detects a virus because the hack has to change windows files.
