Trying to remove my ecm and abs system completely from engine compartment. I have gone carbureted, th400 np 208, and straight axle conversion so they really don't do anything for me anymore. I am trying to clean up the wiring harness or even just start over. If anyone has any good info on the locations of key wires like fuel gauge signal wire or vss signal to the gauge. I have had the engine running without the ecm plugged in and other than no fuel gauge/ speedo everything works. I have located the Tach signal wire and engine temp gauge wire already. Any info would be greatly appreciated or if anyone knows somebody building custom harnesses that would be a life saver.

I didn't think the EFI would support 375-400hp, it's not a daily ride anymore so simplicity is nice, planned on aftermarket injection just hasn't happened yet 650 double pumper gets the job done for now

EFI will do that easily, not the mighty vortec EFI mind you but ....

The last "custom" harness I did I grabbed a spare, pull back the ones not needed (per the wiring diagram in the manual) and tied them off. Ended up with a dozen and a half or so wires.

Bypassing ABS isn't all that hard, you literally just run new line from the input of the ABS unit to the lines coming out of the ABS unit ... then pull the ABS light from the cluster.

Look I maybe wrong but my ideas:

1- marine latest injection system + new fast/smart ECU

2- spark up grade to MSD completely

3- oil coolers (trans + engine)

4- front rear dif locks

5- on board control over ECU to shift from "eco" to "performance" so when you are on road to the play ground you dont use much fuel.

6- use good moderate suspension

7-nice light wight wheels and tires.

Thats all I think

I don't have enough posts yet to reply to your pm but thanks those are life saving diagrams at this point, I have the oil pressure and temp gauge wires separated but I'm not too sure about the rest of the 13 wires going through passenger side firewall. I think the one connector went to Prndl switch but individual wire purpose would put me in a really good spot hoping to have it running again by Monday evening

I don't have enough posts yet to reply to your pm, thanks very much for the pinouts, you wouldn't by chance have info on the harness going through passenger side firewall, I've got the oil pressure and temp gauge wires marked but the rest are somewhat of a mystery. Thanks again
