Well, I am leveled out at about 13 mpg on E85. That's mostly back country road driving. 12' Denali xl 4wd. At $2.05/gallon recently, I'm not upset at all with that. The Shell stations around here have 89 octane, and 93 octane. Man the 93 is really spendy! I'm not supposed to run less than 91 in my 6.2L. So E85 has been a great option!

E85 is around $2.80 a gallon out here in Socal.

91 is around $3.80 a gallon

So I don't mind saving $23 give or take for a fill up but I do notice i'm filling up sooner on E85.

I really need to sit down and do all the numbers to see if it is really worth it in the long run

Yes. Cents/mile is the answer.

Well the station locally that carried e85 decided he isn't carrying it anymore. That's the only reason I would go to that filthy station. Dangit! I haven't seen it anywhere eles.

Road trip 246 miles at a mostly constant 78mph, A/C off, ethanol sensor showing 71% used 14.82 gallons. I'll post results from the return trip soon

Return trip was hotter, 85* vs 70 so I used the A/C for about half the trip. Alcohol content went down to 67.8 but the commanded AFR stayed at 9.76. Drove 218.1 and used 15.0 gallons.

That's pretty cool Lance, how many cents a mile now for those two legs? Mine on E85 gets 13.6 MPG @ 75 MPH with an 80% Alcohol Content during testing; the average of multiple 6-8 mile runs.

From my use around town and on road trips, can't really make much of a case for it. Might be saving a little but you really haveto be careful on the throttle.
