Sup guys i have an issue with my drl they have not worked since i got the truck. If i jump the wires on the relay they turn on only problem is if i leave the wire jumped my headlight won’t turn off i don’t want my headlights on all day long. Anybody know what can be the issue? Or another way of doing it without the headlights needing to stay on. Also my parking light dont work either

On my 03 Tahoe my drl's aren't the headlights, it's the lights under the headlights, in the parking light housings. Are yours the same maybe?

have you checked in a mirror or reflection in front of you?, the drl's will not come on unless you are in gear
so to test them, set your parking brake and put it in gear, get out and look
*note the headlight low beams will not come on when the parking brake is set.

If the headlight turns on, the DRL should turn off I thought? Have you tested/changed the relay?

pull your headlight out and check the bulb & socket after a while these sockets tend to get burnt/melted, one quick way to fix that is to clean the contacts with a metal scraper of some kind screwdriver etc, if there burnt bad then you can get replacement sockets from the dealer or ebay amazon, etc. also check your ambient light sensor for proper operation

Check the sockets, they tend to burn out so they must be changed. If there ok check the senor that's on the dash which is ambient light sensor. Put a bright light at the sensor, if they don't turn on then it's that. Make sure you put car in drive and the parking brake on.
