Driveshaft snapped

60mph on free way and then i feel hard vibration and 2 seconds later drive shaft snaps off the rear end, its still on the transfer case but i only have like 5 inches of the driveshaft haha... so yeah i have the new one but im scared it will happen again

My rear U-Joints busted once (on a 93 Wrangler) which sent the driveshaft spinning and hitting everything. Luckily I was only going 20mph. I can’t imagine what it must have felt like going your speed!

Probably the u-joint and it was probably original or Chicom garbage. Just make sure the new one has good parts. I like to use the solid, non-greaseable u-joints.

First, welcome to the forum.

Second, I see you posted in the lifted section. How is the angle on that shaft? That could be contributing to the problem.

Any vibration normally before it started to go? Maybe the angles or phasing of the shaft is off?
