New on posting. 07 Tahoe ltz and the domelight doesn't work on driver door and stereo doesn't shut down when opening door. However, if I open the door with keys in the ign it lets me know. In addition, if driver door isn't closed properly it gives me a warning.
So, is this something that can be programmed??? And how?

The sensor in your drivers door locking mechanism isn't working and needs replaced.

It use to be on a button type switch on old school cars, now i's built in to the lock mechanism inside the door.

I thought about that and actually priced them on Ebay. But to make sure we are on the same page, would this take replacing the entire lock mechanism inside the door?

But again, why does it register if the door is ajar?

But why does the "door ajar" register and the key buzzer sound when the door is open?

But I did think of the mechanism. Is it the complete door latch assembly that needs replaced? Thanks
