The other thought I would have is to cut a shallow "x" into the top with a hacksaw before installing it, then swaging it wide with a chisel after install.

That's probably going to be a Body Shop job. Driver's door sags and will need a pin and busing kit and I don't have any way to support the door. As you can see from the other items, I'll try most things if they're simple enough, but some are beyond my comfort level.

Should you decide to tackle it, taking the door off was (to me) easier than trying to keep it balanced on a jack. Pull the plastic trim off the kick panel and the door wires have connectors there for this purpose.

If anything, I would support it from overhead with a hoist or similar. But I don't think I'll be trying this task.
