Dipstick Hard to Insert

6.2L gasser.
Does anyone else find the dipstick difficult to insert?
I have never had a vehicle where thie dipstick sticks so bad on insertion.
Mine is even showing wear marks on the cast metal (I assume it is Aluminum) base.

Is this normal, or something others have noticed?

Or am I the only person who actually checks the oil at every fuel fill up?

I check it maybe once a month, but once you get a confidence factor that it’s not really using any, I’ve let it go two or three months before. If it doesn’t use it, it just doesn’t use it. The very vast majority of the vehicles I have owned in the last 10 years start out full and stay full in between oil changes.
