What would cause my 07 Tahoe to die at stop lights/signs?

I just replaced my battery.

One thing I noticed tonight was when it was going to die all the lights started to dim to a point where they almost went out, but, I put it in neutral and all was well.
If I put it in N coming to a stop its fine.

I'm curious if it could be my alternator.

Oh, and all of this started tonight. Never happened before.

Thoughts and opinions are much appreciated.

Thanks

You are on the right track sir. Did you happen to see the volt guage before it died? Definitely start with the alternator

Thanks for the quick response Brian :)
I didn't notice the volt gauge. All I saw was the lights go so dim that it almost stalled out on me.
I'll have to look out for that next time out, which will be tomorrow morning.

What made you change the battery in the first place?

I had it checked a few times, 2 out 3 said it was on its last leg.
Sluggish start up and noticed my lights were dimming while driving. Like what's happening but it never died.

Battery shouldn't cause these shut offs under normal loads. This was a common issue on hybrids when their main Battery was bad. Im thinking crankshaft sensor or similar if not obvious alternator. You do alt test? Check for codes? You could knockout both at AutoZone

I did an alternator test a while ago when I checked my battery and they said it was fine. That was at O'Riellys.
I'm heading back to az and oriellys tomorrow to see if its throwing any codes.
I have a check engine light on right now because of my emissions evap system. I'll see if anything else came up.

Actually i had murano with similar issue and Battery fixed temporarily but for a long period, like a month or two. Failing alternator was the culprit. But in my case, car died while driving, this why I'm leaning to slowly failing or sensor.

The alternator on these cars look deeper easy to change compared to the murano.

I'm hoping its the alternator, because its so easy haha.
I will definitely be checking other sensors as well, hopefully the diagnostic machine at AZ will pick something up. Otherwise I'll have to go to my buddies shop to use his Modis (I think that's what its called) made by snap on

So, I went out to check the battery connections, they were tight.

Someone else had mentioned about checking the intake and TB. I go out literally two minutes ago to check the intake tube and TB. Low and behold it was not even attached to the TB at all.
How does this happen? The same thing happened to my 2dr on a few occasions.
