Daytime running lights

How does everyone else’s day time running lights work? I swear mine used to be just the led strip, but lately it has just been my headlights on and no led strip. Did I accidentally change something or am I crazy and imagined that it was just the led strip lol. I replaced the sensor in the dash thinking that was the cause but that did nothing.

What year and model? OEM lights?

2015-2017 DRL are headlights, 2018 they switched to Led strip for DRL.
before that led strip is only on when not in Drive, in drive they switch to headlights.
which may be your source of confusion.
