Cruise control not working

2008 PPV cruise control turns on but does not work. Garage says computer says vehicle is going 157 mph standing still. They stopped there and told it could be very expensive to troubleshoot. Any fixes out there?

Try replacing your brake light switch. Simple inexpensive part to replace that seems to fail randomly.
