I don’t know if the implementation of MRC is different on the Escalades but my 2017 is butter smooth with my 22 inch wheels, all the time. It properly absorbs bumps from tiny ones to large ones at any speed. I’m pretty impressed with how nice the ride actually is on this truck. The Escalade has 3 selectable modes, Tour (normal), Sport, and Snow/Ice. I keep it in the normal mode, Tour. Maybe the Denali uses the equivalent of Sport mode?

No selection on the Denali. Shocking to hear its butter smooth over joints, imperfections etc ESPECIALLY with 22’s. I special ordered my Denali with smaller tires because of the harsh ride. but maybe they softened it up for 2017. Glad you like how yours rides. That’s all that matters.

If I put it in Sport mode, then I can feel imperfections in the road and it gets kind of bumpy like a sports car. Maybe Denali is permanently set to “Sport mode” in MRC programming. The Tour mode is awesome, buttery smooth and secure, yet still fun to drive.

Well....That would be a miracle, as the sport mode has no effect on the suspension....only the tranny.

The "miracle" is that there is so much misinformation online, like what you just said, that sometimes its hard to filter the truth, lol.

From the 2017 Cadillac Escalade owners manual, p. 228: "Magnetic Ride Control: The Magnetic Ride Control monitors the suspension system. Based on road conditions, steering wheel angle, and vehicle speed, the system automatically adjusts to provide the best handling while providing a smooth ride. The Tour and Sport Modes will feel similar on a smooth road. Tour : Use for normal city and highway driving. This setting provides a smooth, soft ride. 8 Sport : Use where road conditions or personal preference demand more control. This setting provides more “feel,” or response to road conditions. 6 Snow/Ice : Use when more traction is needed during slippery conditions."

Sorry you had so much trouble with your Denali. We picked up a used 17 XL with 25k on it and now have 36k. The ride is pretty good, certainly not harsh or my wife would say something. We did put on new tires, Michelin LTX AT's and the ride seemed to improve (possible placebo effect). The 17 wasn't and still isn't buffeting, booming of vibrating. I read about that on this forum and made sure to check for it on the test drive.

We traded in a 16 RAM 1500 Limited Ecodiesel with every option including 4 corner air ride. The truck rode like dream and push a button and lower it 2 inches. Long story short the 3.0 L diesel engine was a lemon. 17 service visits in two years and over 80 days in the shop (43k). It got so bad we were afraid to take the truck out of town for fear of not getting back home. Sued FCA for breach of contract (warranty). I actually found a copy of a service bulletin saying that they didn't have a fix for the truck as this time. Received $8k settlement. Really miss the 22 mpg city and 28 highway but not the lack of dependability.

Traded an 08 Denali XL with 150k in on the RAM. We really liked the Denali especially for vacations so we wanted another XL. We have towed a 6k trailer about 3,500 miles with no problems. The grand kids really like having a DVD in the back of each front seat for their games. My experience makes me think that problems are more dependent on the particular vehicle than it is on the brand. Some/most owners of the same RAM we had never had a problem. Hopefully our Denali will be one without problems and wish you the best with your new RR.
