Will someone please explain or link me to another thread that explains all this hype about putting in a corvette servo. I know nothing about them or what they do so any bit helps.

It's not hype! Just did mine yesterday. One of the best things Ive done to the truck. My dad has an 05 burb and after a test drive in my denali he asked me to get him one.

whats this .500 boost valve thing? is that worth getting as well?

i'm already set on getting a corvette servo, granted i want my trans to be a bit firmer.

the ebay seller i'm looking at recommends the .500 boost valve as well. i know nothing about any of this stuff so i'm not sure what to get.

heres a link to the servos and boost valve

in this case do i get what i pay for or are the cheaper ones good too?

I wouldn't do anything besides the Corvette servo and Superior or Sonnax 4th gear servo.

Your Tahoe isn't a race car.... You don't want it slamming into the next gear, you just want quick, snappy shifts.

I agree. After looking into this a bit it seems the boost valve will allow even more line pressure which may not be for your DD. Its a cheep mod but dont go overboard! Basically, the servo will allow more pressure at ALL shifts vs a tuner making the car shift how you like it. For me that would be a quick, no clunk shift at light throttle. This would be when my twins are happily sleeping in the back row. Then, at WOT I would want the ass of the car to swing out, spilling my beer all over the inside of the cabin. This would be when I'm by myself. The servo will also affect the tow/haul settings which is another thing a tuner can change for you. Do the servo! Skip the boost valve. Get a tune in the future. my .02

I just purchased my servo two days ago off ebay from Oregon Transmission. Only $20. Let you know how the install and results turn out.

No mpg change..

When installing these guys make darn sure you have the snap ring completely seat around the cover before you drive it..If a section of the snap ring is still out it can crack the case and dump all the fluid out...
