So about 4 years back my door handle started breaking on the inside. I neglected to do anything about it and now it’s completely torn off. I have to use the hanging remnants of the handle to close the door. Please don’t judge. But now I’m trying to find a replacement door panel for my 2013 Tahoe hybrid from a salvage yard and can’t find any in Georgia. Any advice out there?

Go to GMPartsDirect.com, enter your VIN, go to the Body section, and look for the exploded diagram of the driver's door. You should find what you are looking for along with the correct part number. And, the cost will be significantly cheaper than the local dealer.

Appreciate that and I was almost there but the panel for mine wasn’t available. But I will use this for other parts. Thanks

What blondie70 said.

...and possibly cheaper. They usually have both genuine and knock-off parts.

The interior door panels are NLA and what’s left is NOS (new, old stock). If you get in a spot and there’s nothing available for the 11-14…

The 07-10 door panels do not have the wear problem as later door panels but are not a direct fit. Some parts are redesigned. The 2nd row late doors cards are the same early design.

If you have an easily matched color like black it’s possible to swap the early for late door cards as a permanent fix.

Given the fact you’ll need every little clip and a perfect example of how to swap one to the other it’s currently practical to buy two complete doors from a wrecker. It ensures all the clips, harnesses and rods are unbroken and complete. Toss the doors when the job is done.

I ended up fabricating a door pull from bed frame angle iron. It hides behind the floppy rubber piece. Taint Purty but it works and is mostly invisible.

Just replaced mine yesterday in my 13 Tahoe LT. It was a Dorman 80995. Very easy to fix and they have replaced the plastic with reinforced metal and this one doesn't look like it will break. Took about an hour all together as the original has plastic studs that are melted like rivets and have to be CAREFULLY drilled out so you dont lose the mounting surface. I needed the Light cashmere and this matched pretty nicely. They must sell thousands of these....
I do have to add that 2 of the studs had damaged threads and were unusable so run the nuts up and down the studs before install....

I saw this post and just ordered the Dorman 80995 repair piece for our '13 Tahoe's driver's door. Damn - it's just what we all needed!

As our Tahoe's RH handle is broken too, discovered they don't make one. Reached out to their online help/suggestion line requesting this and went into some detail about what a problem this is in our SUV's/Trucks, particularly the 10-14's.

About an hour later got a call from their Marketing guy and seems they were unaware that the RH side was breakage-prone too, so they are going to look into producing a repair kit for the RH side door too... pretty cool!

Stay tuned!
