EACBB5F3-771E-491A-9C02-C2E8C131B6BD.jpeg I traded for some 2008 z71 20” wheels and the clear coat peeling is worse than I thought. It was pouring rain when I saw them and didn’t get to check each wheel out completely. Is there anything safe I can use to strip the clear coat? It is way better underneath it. 2A95AD69-23F1-4394-A3CD-6CF200724ED9.jpeg

You may want to strip what’s left and apply new wheel coating or at least smooth the edges if you decide to leave it though I’m not sure how that will look. Powder coating would be another option. You can choose any finish you want that way.

Good god  . I’ll never complain about how bad my wheels are.
I agree with above, sand the rest. Paint silver or you can hand polish (lots and lots of time) and put clear over it.
Or if you can powdercoat them

I did mine and i used aircraft paint remover from O' Riley's. used paint brush to spread it on rims. only go one direction with the brush, and put a cut garbage bag on rims on top of stripper and let sit. Then after it sits for about 45 mins, hit with pressure washer.
