Hey guys.... im trying to decide on which head unit to put in the wifes 2013 yukon XL....either a Clarion NX702 or Kenwood DNN770HD??? Unfortunately nobody in my area has either in stock or on display for that matter to take a look at. I am running a clarion in my duramax at the moment and have been happy with it. Both of us have Iphone 4S phones currently...... i am definitely interested in making sure to get the most out of the phones/HU connectivity plus an ipad purchase is in our near future.... Pros/Cons ??? anybody running either of these decks?

If you won't the most out of your iDevice, go with the Pioneer AVIC-Z150BH. I just got one in my avalanche and love it.

If you are going to go Pioneer why not get the AVH-X8500BHS instead? You get a 720p screen vs 400line of the Z150, faster loading and if you have a andriod or iphone its uses the built in GPS of the device if you use the connection kit. its practically half the price and better functionality. And I would go Kenwood for the add ons.

Yea for sure that's why I mentioned the HDMI (which is pretty much all I use) connected to my iPad Mini. I'd way rather have 1080p then 720p... even on a 7" screen lol. Plus the functionality of the iPad the OP is using will be wayyyy better used on a pioneer then a kenwood. I debated getting one but went with the pioneer bc of that exact reason.

Same reason I am getting the AVH-X8500BHS for the andriod support. I was going to get the z150 but then I saw 1080 on on one source vs. the x8500 with 720p on all sources and with the connection kit you get GPS and all other features of Z150 and a 500+ dollar savings. But when refrencing the the original question from @chance_mcneil I prefer the Kenwood over Clarion. (Sorry for the late response I am at work)

So how much can you get one for? 350? I got my z150bh for 850 shipped which I think is a pretty good deal... Way cheaper then the kenwood flagship which runs around 1100-1200.

If you picked up the Z150 for that low tell me where you purchased it and I will get my x8500 there.:signs1:

Is it a 2013 head unit? A lot of the units coming out nowadays have android and iPhone support so it most likely does. You definitely should've looked that up prior to purchasing though lol. And yea so far I LOVE the z150. It's the 5th pioneer screen I've had and by far the best.

Well i guess im not so sure haha i guess i will find out when it arrives, i imagine it will have a build date sticker on it, and if not hopefully i can update the software...? i wouldnt have to find all this stuff out the hard way if i had a car audio shop that did anything at all to stay on top of new products and actually maybe stock something, not a single shop in town had the flagiship model for kenwood, clarion or pioneer in stock or on display.... they all just handed me a catalog and said wee could order it, and nobody knew anything about them either :disgust:

It's $699 on amazon so you got a pretty damn good deal. So you're telling me you randomly bought this screen without know any specs?! Very ballsy my friend!! Yes it does have ipod capabilities. Here's a break down from a quick google search:

Built-in Car Navigation system with free Real-time traffic
Built-in Parrot Bluetooth
USB connectivity for iPhone/iPod
DVD/MP4/CD/SD/MP3/WMA Player
50W x 4 with MOS-FET Power Amplifier

The only specs i have is everything i have read off of clarions website..... same with the kenwood.... and pioneer , i have yet to see any of these 3 head units in person... so i am in the dark of the actual layout for each unit, ease of use, and the overall appearance....regardless i was looking at the flagship model for each brand....

oh also the main reason i picked clarion was basically because i have that brand in my 09 duramax and have been happy with it but the unit is 4 years old now.....

Ah I see. I've had a few friends with clarion units and they've been fairly happy with em. I'm sure you'll be fine. Plus the price you got it for is dirt cheap so I'd say you came out ahead.
