Was getting really annoyed with the escalade gauge swap with the stupid gas gauge going nuts. So took apart the escalade cluster as in the pictures and ill be trading my good gas gauge from the original cluster of the tahoe and putting it into the escalade one. not sure if itll work, but mind as well give it a shot. got nothing to lose besides to clusters and some money. lol..
(im doing this because the escalade gas gauge did that fluctuating thing, where when i was driving it would bounce up and down. even when i wasnt driving it still would bounce and drive me nuts.. my original one didnt do that, thats why im trying it all out.. if it works, then ill be throwing some LEDS in it..

Those are good pics of that unit out. In the first pic, is that where the 194 LED bulbs go? We need a full write up on the exact locations of all the LEDs back there.

Maybe when i do mine, i'll break my camera out and do one.

I am sure you are talking about the piece on the bottom, the white piece. That's just the back of the housing the LEDs dont go there.

Here is Atomic's pic of the back:

You'll be replacing the lower 3 bulbs on both the right and left side. All the smaller bulbs are the indicators lights and those you'll replace with T1.5s if you choose to, does not make much of a color difference though. I might just take out my gauges and do pictures to show you guys today.

That would be very beneficial for those who haven't ever taken their gauge cluster out. I just ordered my LED tonight, so the project will be starting as soon as they arrive and I have some time.

Yea the Essky and Tahoe one are the exact same bud.. The only difference is the color,120,needles... i took the old good gas gauge out of my tahoe cluster and put it in my essky cluster and it works perfect! actually a lot better too. This one doesn't move now when i go around corners and shit.. it worked perrrrfect.. easy swap.. if anyone wants to try PM me and ill shoot you over the exact directions..

Are the bulbs soldered into those twist-lock sockets? Or is it just the small idiot light bulbs that are soldered?

They might be either one. On the ones that are soldered you will know right away that they are when you go and try to pull the bulb out, it will not budge at all. If you still are not unsure look at the twist lock, should say "Replace Entire Assembly". Last but not least, the back of the twist lock will have a opening parallel to it so you are able to see the bulb and its tails, and where they are soldered into place.

You can still get the twist lock to work if the bulbs are soldered in, you will just have to break the bulb out of there and get rid of the bulbs tails.

so Atomic, you don't have a govner on your 'hoe, so you could go 120 if ya wanted, right? :D
tho i noticed your stock tach only goes up to 5k, yet mine goes up to 6k. the weird part is mine doesn't have any redline at all...
