got a phone call from the machine shop yesterday with bad news. The block is cracked. So now I am on the hunt for another 305 block... A search I thought would be easy is proving to be troublesome. The ones I've found are more than 350's.

might as well just put a 350 in it man..305s are junk...not like theres any wires or anything that have to be changed for a 350 in an older truck..build one up nice, bored .040 over, cam heads etc and have a nice motor

I really want to keep it as original as possible. But If I can't find a 305 I will go to pull apart and yank a 350 to put in it

when i got my motor painted from the engine shop in the TA (400 block all bored out and shit) they painted it facotry color blue, and after the initial run through and break in, the motor got so hot it basically turned the paint colors.. still looks blue but no way better then before.. id choose black or a very dark color if i was you.. IMO
