Would the motor mount be covered under the 100k mile power train warranty? What mileage were you at when the mechanic noticed it during the lifter replacement?

It's 5 years / 100,000 miles so if the engine work was recent, the 5 years are up.

Out of all the vehicles I've owned, my 2007 Suburban LTZ has by far had the most problems. I keep a maintenance log of all my cars. My 2011 Challenger has 15 entries. My 2002 Ram 1500 has 20 entries. Mostly oil changes and routine maintenance. No major repairs.

My 2007 Suburban has 170 entries, many of which were major repairs. My dash is cracked. My door handles are peeling again. The motor mounts are a pain to do but I've done both. It's amazing what a difference they made in quieting the engine noise inside the cabin.

I do all the work on my vehicles myself so I have no labor costs which helps considerably.

I know the mechanics of the suburban so well that even with all the problems, I'm considering getting a used one for myself. Probably one with bad lifters so I can get an even better deal. Paying someone to do a lifter repair job is very expensive labor wise but very inexpensive if doing the job yourself.

I enjoy my 08 Yukon but they do have their issues. My 10 year old Lexus, 0 issues.

2001 Yukon SLT
2012 Yukon Denali XL
2011 Yukon Denali RIP 5/20/18

It was past the 5 year time frame but had right at 93k at that time. He sure as shit didn't say anything about it being covered at that time. I am telling you these GM service teams are crooks! They try to make you feel like you're crazy when you bring stuff up to them. I have done and do plenty of work on my own cars (many repairs on my 2001 BMW X5 if that tells you anything), I always say....not trying to do your job but always want to help with any trouble shooting when I bring something in. They look at you like I'm stupid and I swear they either deflect or fix what they think is the problem only to have you back a week later for the same issue. Been to a few dealers in my area now and it seems to be a culture thing. Recently in my 2016 Buick Regal Tii it was starting and then shutting down to have a hard time stating again but eventually starting. Could be a fuel relay issue, could be an alternator going bad, could be a weak battery.....ya know there is a check list most mechanics would go through o fix the issue. Left it for a week and they let one of their techs drive it to try and get it to duplicate the issue, no luck so no other work done on it..... Get is back and the Monday morning after i go to start it for work trip and same crap.....two days later same thing. I mean I am telling you what happened why do you need to duplicate the issue, how about trust the person who drives the car every day and run down some tests on the stem that starts and keeps the car running. CRAZY!

My first post! One thing after the other with my 2008 Yukon Denali XL (144,000 Miles). I just took it in for Inspection and I was given Enormous list of issues. You have to be kidding me!

It needs two new motor mounts, Leaking exhaust manifold cover due to 4 broken bolts holding it on, Front Left strut, new rear shocks, Check Engine light with two unknown codes C0700 and C0702. This is ridiculous!!!

This is all after I just put on 4 new tires, 4 new sets brake pads and rotors and new plugs and wires.

GM is killing me! I can't afford to drive this thing anymore! It sits in my driveway until I decide what to do with it.

Most of that is just regular maintenance. Expected at 144,000 miles. The exhaust manifold leak can be repaired without too much trouble if you use the Kral clamps that don’t require removing the broken bolts. Motor mounts are not easy though.

Agreed. I had to do all the same with my 155k mile 08 Yukon Denali.

Great price, the mounts cost about $70 aftermarket, so gen GM part should be more. Not a complicated job, but time consuming. You need to remove cv axle on that side (which on mine means removing shock too), remove fender splash shields, lift engine with hoist or jack and removing broken mount. If it was pass side you need to remove starter also.

If they remove cv axle the need to use a new axle nut. Also have them check boots for cracks, replace if they already have it off and there are cracks.
I have replaced 3 about to do the 4th one. The after market parts are junk. So I will be buying a better one this time to hopefully not have to do it again. But don’t tell everyone that you have to remove all this to do it. If you remove all this your just wasting your time. I have done 3 and remove none of that I drive the Yukon up on ramps use a jack to jack the engine up remove bolts and mount and install the new one. It takes me about an hour to complete from start to Finnish. It can be a pain sometimes but not as bad as everyone is making it sound. And I’m no shop this is my personal Denali.

Buy the Hummer H3 one and do away with the stupid fluid filled failures. It will be your last time.

This. I'm ******* mine and I have no reserves about it since switching to the H3 mount. BTW, I compared a blown hydraulic mount to one from an '05 Sierra. It looked like it'd bolt up just the same. I know the H3 is a GMT800, but I don't know if there are any differences in the regular truck mount versus the H3.
