Hey, thoughts to add fuel --
According to the NHTSA site, auto manufacturer's have 60 days after a recall is 'active' to notify owners of the remedy. According to what I can see on NHTSA's site, this was announced as an Official Recall 4/24/2025: Add 60 days = June 23rd... a date that is quickly approaching, yet to my knowledge, no letters/recall notices have been mailed?
GMC are you listening?

Anyone get a letter yet?

The recall announcement on 4/24 isn't when the recall becomes active.

2023 Chevy Suburban Z71 6.2, had the engine replaced about 5-6 weeks ago after it grenaded at 26k miles. Returnig home yesterday from a vacation, the check engine ight started blinking. Have less than 1500miles on it since replacement of engine. The replacement engine has a date code of 05/25. Having it towed to dealership today. I did not pull any codes yet, not messing with anything other than following dealership guidance. We will see where this goes, i will provide update when I know.

I suppose that is progress at least. I've started checking mine on the GM website more frequently, but I'm still showing a status of "Incomplete. Remedy not available"

For what it's worth, mine was labeled as "incomplete" for quite some time now and I just took it to the dealer last week for an oil change and they said it is not showing up in their system as being ready for an inspection yet. It feels like this just means you have something to do but GM hasn't told the dealership it's time to do it yet.

I haven’t received the “Letter” but on my GM app today it had the “Loss of propulsion” recall and I saw the “Schedule Service” option for the first time. Prior to this it just said “incomplete” and “Remedy not available”.

I scheduled service for Monday and I will see what happens. My OLM is 69% so I was ready to take it in as I never let it get below 50%.

Id prefer to get a new engine as I have heard mixed reviews of the extended warranty on the bottom end only.

Is it just me, or is the oil inspection a red herring? From what I’ve seen of the engine teardowns videos, you really need to be able to open the crankshaft to see the signs of wear.
It is more than an oil inspection. Their procedure includes a knock sensor attached to the block, a 20 second run at 2000 rpm, and a “listen” to the knock sensor during that run using the knock sensor and picoscope (high speed digital oscilloscope.). Then analysis of the result and a decision based on that (only GM engineers know that they are looking for.). So, we all hope they (GM engineers) tested this on several good and suspect engines, and their procedure can tell the difference. Only time will tell, but the up side is if your engine passes this inspection, you get a 15 year, 150k mile warranty on the bottom end…so they must be pretty confident.
