Interesting. But I remember seeing them long after parts were available. Maybe they were milking the exceptions. I know the GM dealer fixed mine after I traded it in.Technically no. NHTSA says no vehicle can be sold with an open safety recall. But I think a bunch of exceptions were granted for the Takata airbag fiasco, since parts were not available. Suspect maybe GM could apply for an exception here, but who knows if it would be granted or not. While this recall is large, it’s tiny compared to the Takata Airbag one.
