Lmao. That's funny.

All I did was post objective data. But way to keep the discussion going.

I never measured how far I can piss? Is that something yall did in the 70s? Sorry man im not that old. I dont know the lingo.

Its not rocket science to A:) look and read the recall in its entirety. B:) to realize that just because the displacement is the same as an engine 20 years older that it isnt the same engine. C.) Realize the 0w-20 is still the manufacture recommended oil D.) That there are millions upon millions of 6.2 with 0w-20 and other engines that run it without issue E.) That it isnt a conspiracy to want efficiency and gas mileage.

But I hear ya. Fact checking ain't the cool thing to do these days. Hahaha

I hope you guys are having a good day. :)

Better yet why not put some gear oil in? I mean let's get max protection. Maybe some Lucas oil stabilizer. Yall remember the little displays by the parts counter? Its gotta work right ? Right? Hahahaha
Just to set the record straight. I am one of those guys that research the hell out of everything especially when it involves my investments. I’m just here with my opinions that are based on reading expert opinions and I lean the way that makes sense and it has nothing to do with feelings.

I won’t debate you because I’m watching more than a couple people that just flat out make more sense than you do. You then put words in peoples mouths that think differently than you. You are entertaining to watch and read your “opinions” that you think are facts. Carry on court jester.

Just to move on..... I saw a GM dealer ad for a used Silverado with the 6.2L that claimed the recall had been performed. Did they just change the oil and say all done? Or has the recall campaign actually started?
The recall campaign officially started on dealer stock (both new and used) with the *001 bulletin. There are numerous you tube videos of techs performing it. The reason it started here is because no vehicle with a safety recall can be sold…so they have to get the on the lot stuff done to re-enable those vehicles to be sellable.

GM also launched a program for dealers with unsellable stock to provide them capital to cover their inventory while it is not sellable.

See all the details in the 19 documents here

Can you highlight some of my opinions you found funny?

Im curious. Especially since you 'research'

Also what do you consider an 'expert'?

I may be an 'expert myself depending on your own metric. I only did heavy line for GM, was corvette certified, am a ase master tech, taught at trade schools and helped set up countless others. And I only do mechatronics engineering now and help with the family used dealership. But I may be under qualified depending on your own bar so I concede that point.

I could use a good laugh too.

I think the more telling part is that I dont agree with some of the BS stated here. But im also not the one hurling insults like a scolded child either.

Im just trying to help the others who may use the forums as a form of real factual enlightenment as few and far between as that audience may be. If anything i try to make sure i dont post an opinion because it could be objectively incorrect.

Hope you are having a good day, stay positive :)

Your saying because the bearing is similar to an engine made almost 20 years ago that the design is the same ?

It makes no sense lol. And Im glad you remember me. Rent free.

Hopefully people can read between the lines. I guess this is why people dont use forums as much anymore. Its opinions instead of fact.

I will also say I dont need to resort to name calling when all im doing is providing objective data that can be looked up by anyone and not using my own cooked up data from my garage.

Im not sure what your angle is. But usually its to sell something when data isnt used. The last time we had this merry go round thats exactly what it was.

I've clearly hurt your feelings. That's not my intent. I just hate misinformation that you are pushing my Rockstar.

Im just here to fact check and be objective and make the discussion go along positively.

If you are offended thats not my intent. But I guess these days fact checking is a slurr lol

Why are you always getting into arguments with a bunch of forum members?

I think im just not as old as the audience here. And I hate misinformation. It also helps me stay sharp. What about you ? Did you ever end up in a GM suv? Or you still looking into it? I also wouldn't call it arguing more like a positive debate. At least until someone starts throwing insults.

I try to keep a professional disposition as thats how I was raised.

Taking delivery of a 2025 F150 with the 5.0 in early July from Granger Ford. Decided to go that route instead of a Sierra 1500 with a 6.2 because GM seems to not be able to make a reliable NA V8 engines these days.

It’s more of a buyer’s market for 1/2 ton pickups now and the 2025 is a refresh year for the GM and Ford SUVs. Either type of vehicle (pickup or SUV) would have work for us right now.

We’ll look for our SUV replacement the next time around. We still like the Suburban and would definitely consider it if GM figures out the problems with their NA V8s. If we don’t need something as large as the Suburban, we’ll probably opt for a X7.

Yeah for sure. The pickup market is cooked. Tons of discounts. The 5.0 is a great motor. My pops had a fleet of 5.0 base f150s and they ran and ran some with 300k with just basic maintenance. His drivers were not kind to them either.

The same is true for everything in life. The difference is whether the company stands behind their mistake.

Are we just punching the air or?

Humans make things. And things can break. What would you like the solution to be?

New engines, extended warranty. What else ?
I’m a fleet guy with a construction company that plays hand me downs to the new guys. Veterans get the new vehicles. They all take their trucks home and I don’t complain about personal use. I currently have 4 of these engines. One has thrown the doomsday code but not blown up yet. My oldest in service is a 2006. I’ve asked this young man to let me get him in a newer truck but his life’s mission is to see it through to 500k. The engine will probably make it but I’m tired of the way it represents us. Rockers are gone. Windshield frame is leaking and the glass people won’t replace the glass because of the ring rust. My point is…. Over half of my vehicles have over 200k and several beyond 300. All without anything serious going wrong. If these 4 all blow up at 180 I’m not going to be happy and I’ll be going straight to Ford vehicles.
