Sort of new to this forum. Usually only have to read the other threads to find my answers. I have a tough issue though. When driving around and I hit a bump my brake pedal shakes. I just replaced my shocks with some new bilsteins and this made the problem a little worse. The pedal shakes enough to turn off my cruise and once It even felt as though it did some braking without my help. Any thoughts on what to look at or fix would be great.
Thanks, Great site.

FYI took the yukon in to a known good shop and found nothing wrong but that it was slightly out of alignment. Any other thoughts? Please

Went to the shop with nothing found wrong but slightly out of alignment. Any other thoughts you guys might have would be greatly appreciated.

are your wheels hubcentric or lugcentric? Might have the balance checked on all wheel/tire combos.

don't know the difference of those centrics, but did have the balance checked. No problems there. The shake does only happen over quick hard bumps very smooth driving otherwise.

might get a second shop's opinion on upper/lower bj and t.r.e. imo...just in case.

x2 on that...2nd opinions are a must. I took my hoe to a dealer on something else and 2 mechanics including the foreman drove my truck. "No problem." they said.

Wrong...it was a BIG freakin problem

I´ve had the same problem with some old rims that didnt center on the hubs. Try out some other rims, might help.

another thought just came to mind...is that what you may be feeling is your anti-lock breaks activating when hitting bumps and the breaks at the same time...

Okay I think I may have gone in the wrong direction a little bit. Probably still something with the suspension, but there is some really good play now in my brake pedal. Just wondering if someone might have a diagram of how the brake pedal is mounted in my yukon. FYI it is the power (movable pedals).
I don't have anything different going on while I'm braking. No ABS feedback or anything like that. Only thing is that over quick bumps, my brake pedal moves allot.

I do have another shop scheduled for tuesday.

Got the second opinion. Still not anything on the suspension. They did see some excess play in the brake pedal and called gm on this. Their response was that this fine. They did suggest I take off my 20's and go with stockers again. I did have the intermediate shaft replaced and that calmed my problem down slightly.
Thanks for the help with this guys.

I don't know if this will help, or is the same problem i had. but every time i hit a bump, my pedal would shake pretty bad. I checked underneath to find that the bushing holding the pedal to the shaft was excessively worn. I replaced it, and the problem went away. so far so good. don't know if this will help, or is the same type of shake, or problem.

I think that is probably exactly my problem. Where do I get this bushing or where am I looking for the bushing?
Any extra help is great.
Thanks

I have a good amount of play as well in my brake pedal and still have a good amount of Brake pad left. No shaking though over bumps. Try what whiteout said it could very well be that bushing.

check underneath your dash, follow the brake pedal up, till you see were it connects to the shaft coming thru the firewall. I just went to pepboys, and bought a bushing to replace mine. Alot cheaper then going to the dealership. hope it helps

Wondering if I could get you to tell me which piece you replaced. I have a diagram if I can get it on here. If it is on here is it item 13 or 14?
Thanks
