I have owned my '02 since the showroom and i love the truck and don't think I will part with it. I have newer cars but can't let this one go so I figured I would work it a bit. I see alot about black bear tuning and air filters and I wanna know if my vehicle is stock what do i need to buy before doing the black bear tune? Only thing I have done to this truck is 20' chrome rims, tints, and hid's.
Any info is helpul!!

welcome, and no sir, your ready, and when you do other mods (which we all do) free retunes for as long as you have the truck. I did a BB tune on mine, LOVE the changes!!

Yeah he summed it up pretty well. You don't need anything before getting tuned but you will need to send your pcm back in for retunes if you get other performance mods. I want the tune so bad but I just got my intake and I plan to get at least exhaust and maybe headers in the near future so I'm waiting to save me from needing future tunes. It's really just personal preference as to when to get it done.

In most cases BlackBear tunes don't need to be re-flashed just for a CAI.. that being said, if you can afford It I would settle your intake and exhaust before you tune. Save yourself a few bucks shipping your PCM back and forth, and the down days.

I'd also ask them to set your "tow/haul" to your performance shift mode, unless you do a lot of heavy towing, Then leave it for its actual purpose. I would also recommend leaving atleast 30% of your torque management in your transmission to further its life span- 20" rims/tires have a tendancy to eat them up faster. We all know the transmissions are the weak link in our rides.

Good luck, You'll love the tune, Justin is one of if not the best...
