Looking for a cheap way or a kit to put bigger rotors on my obs tahoe. I was told by ssbc that it can't be done since the caliper bolts directly to the spidle. Anyone upgraded rotors without spending 1000+ dollars????

I think later spindles fit as long as you ream the upper balljoint hole. Bigger than 16" wheels are needed.

ssbc has bigger brake sets for the 2wd with bigger rotors and 4 piston calipers but only offer dual piston calipers for the fronts on 4wd with no increase in rotor size.

Ssbc prices are ridiculous. Bigger rotors have more leverage and make less heat as I'm sure you know so bigger calipers on stock size rotors are pointless in my opinion.

I can get the entire front brake setup off a 2000 Z71 (12in rotors) and the tool to ream the ball joint for significantly less than what SSBC wants just for calipers.

cost is high but remember then are machining billet aluminum block to get what they want. still can be a bit cheaper but they are not flying off the shelf so until then prices will be higher.

Aluminum is cheap and they just run it through a CNC. cheap to make and they charge too much in my opinion. Big calipers on 10" rotors don't look good on a truck. ;)

Wow. 11.6 I'm sorry. An inch makes a huge difference in looks on a 26" wheel, wait a minute, no it doesn't. I want to do Z06 vette brakes. I'm in the process of doing it now.
