Looking to buy a new Yukon XL and getting poor advice form dealers (and ZERO advice form GMC support). We have a drive on beach with very deep sand on occasion. In the winter/Spring we will be using it in Vermont with 6 inch+ depth mud on the roads. The dealers are just trying to tell me the stock 22's will be fine but I know they won't. My current 4Runner has 18in rims and the off-road tires have an AR of 70. Can anyone recommend a combo of stock rims/tires from GMC I could request?

I would just request the smallest wheel they offer, which seems to look like 20”. Even then, you’re only getting their stock tire which probably isn’t any good off road

I would just tell them to add the cheapest tire package and plan to shop for a new wheel/tire set up after you get the suv.

nope, nothing stock from gm will be sufficient and you will be lucky if anything aftermarket even fits without modifications.
buy a jeep or do your research for a best option.
there might be a aftermarket 18" wheel tire combo that would work but you have to be sure it will clear the brake calipers, you might have to go bigger than 18, look at what they put on the ppv's for minimum fitment.

I wouldn’t worry about the wheel size
If it were me I’d throw a 2-3” leveling kit on it and put some 33/12.50/22 nitto terragrapplers on there
They are awesome in the sand and still does good in the mud while being a quiet and smooth ride on the highway
Shoot the 33s may fit without the leveling kit from previous posts I’ve seen
Avoid the dealer at all costs they will only rip you off

Just got my rim back from the repair shop this afternoon. About a year ago, I suddenly ran over a cinderblock that was left on the freeway, and it dented my outer lip enough for it to hold less air pressure, along with a noticeable 8 inch ripple along the lip edge. I've been in need of new tires for a month now, so this comes at a great time. I already have tires, so I just need to take them to a shop that can mount them via the incendiary method (with fire). The rubber compound is a lot more dense with the Trail Blades - making them harder to stretch, but I didn't know that when I bought them online 3 years ago. They're 33's instead of 35's, with a wider tread (13.50), so they won't need to stretch as much as the 12.50 RBP's I've used several times. And that's perfect for my needs.

Your T1 has an option for 275-60-20 wheels/tires. They're 33 inches tall. I have used KO2s previously in similar terrain without getting stuck and my tire size is smaller, 265-70-17.

If your Yukon is lifted and has the room, run 35s!

This is good advice! You will find better options and the cheapest wheel/tire combo will be adequate and you can sell them at a reasonable price and get what you want.

Talk with the guys who drive on the beach and see what they are running. Nothing like talking with someone who actually does what you want to do!
