The new OEM intakes are better than the older OEM intakes from everything we have seen. Gains seem to be right around the same.

I'm not understanding this statement.

If the OEM intakes are getting better then wouldn't the aftermarket ones not gain as much power over factory?

You will not be seeing the 20-30HP gains that the companies are claiming.

Has anyone has experience with the Bullydog CAI or th new style Volant power core CAI?

I have the airraid on my 15 Denali. The one that has the filter and box etc.

I just put it back to stock for the oil change at the dealer...boy do I miss the sound when you hammer on it....
Power wise? Maybe a little tip in, low rpm power gain with the air raid, which goes against convention so ill notch that up to butt dyno wishing results!
