I have an '09 LTZ and there is an occasional rattle in or around the passenger b-pillar. Has anyone else had this problem?

My passenger rear door has a rattle when music plays at moderate or high volumes. For the longest time I thought the speaker was damaged or debri had somehow dropped in front of it behind the paneling, and was touching the driver. This last week I found out it is the outside door handle (middle portion, not the mounts) that is just loose enough to rattle.

Mine sounds like a coat hanger type rattle. And get this, after you drive for a bit the noise goes away. I can press on the seat belt hanger, the adjustable device mounted on the car and it stops. The noise is so far away I cannot diagnose it beyond that. I guess I need to be a passenger and chase it down. The car is so quiet other than that is why it annoys me. Sounds can be tricky. Where you think they originate from can fool you. When I i.d I will post about it.

I think I might have this same slight rattle, 'cept it's on the driver's side. I'm thinking that it's the seat belt height adjuster. I'm not sure, but I think I can make it stop by holding the slider tightly. I need more time to diagnose it, though...

I have an update. I am told that it may be the sticker plate for the door. There is a bulletin out on that as a possible cause. While it is in there the dealer is also going to fix the body creek it has and the drivers door lock rattle. All small issues, but they appear happy to address them. I did not even ask. They did. Wow, a dealer that actually gives customer service.:)

A couple of things and I think this thread is wrapped up.
1. If you have a rattle in the door area have your sticker plate checked. Mine wasn't bad, bit I am told there are issues with them that can cause a rattle in the door area. Apparently mine was just some plastic trim making noise.
2. If you have a body creak that sounds as if it is coming from the door seals take it in. There is a service bulletin on that. I have heard of guys using sprays and other stuff. This is a one time fix.

Roger -- What's a "sticker plate?" I might have a problem with mine, based on the noise diagnosis, but I don't know what or where the sticker plate is.

Thanks.

Sorry, I meant striker plate. What the door latch attaches too. This part mounts on the body of the truck in the door jam area. If it is bad your door will sound like it has a rattle.

haha Wondered if that's what you meant. Ok. Yeah, mine seems pretty secure, and the sound sounds higher than that. So, I'm thinking my sound is in the adjustable seat belt slider...

That is where I am focusing on. The rattle returned after a few days. I am going to investigate it myself, before I return to the dealer to have it repaired. Mine almost sounds to be coming from the top of the pillar. Near the air bag.

rattle

i had this god awful noise coming from what i thought was the dash, turned out to be when the dealer fixed my onstar stuff, above the rearview mirror, they didn't put the cover 100% snapped in place... about drove me to suicide!

I still have an open issue, since day 1 rattle in driver's door.

they have added insulation, new striker, 4 times to dealer.

I now have an open case with the BBB about the voice commands for the sat nav and this.

I had a somewhere-deep-in-the-dash/gauge cluster/windshield cowl occasional rattle in my '02 that nearly drove me insane. The '09, knock on wood, feels much tighter. This little noise I get somewhere around the seatbelt thingie has nothing on the '02 rattle -- but I'd like to get to the bottom of it nonetheless.

i also got the pass rear door rattle... are you able to get to this or is this a dealer fix?

My driver's door is rattling, sounds almost like one of the window switches or something is loose. I'll check the striker plate. It is getting worse as the wife can hear it from the pax seat now.

Roger - Sounds like I have the same issue you do on my 08 Yukon with the door lock rattle. It appears to be coming from both front doors and it drives me insane. When I hear it driving (over bumps and rougher roads), I can at least diagnose that it comes from the lock area by using my forearm to apply pressure on the padding just above the elbow rest. Does that sound familiar to you? If so have you found a fix?

I may also have the striker plate issue, but your the first on the boards I have heard describe a door lock rattle which sounds more like my issue. Would make me so much more content with the truck if I could get this fixed!

Mine is still going on. I'll notice it especially around 50mph and below. I thought it was from the B pillar at first but now I hear it up by where the mirror attaches as well. I checked the striker point and it seems to be secure. Dealer couldn't hear it with their Friday afternoon ears. I plan on bringing it in again. It seems to be the only issue with the vehicle. My wife can hear the rattle on my side but nothing on her side. It has pretty much done it since almost day 1. Dealer said they lubed the seals since the factory doesn't always do it but that didn't seem to help.
