I’ve searched the forums before my first posting and haven’t found a post with the identical problem.
My driver’s side seat won’t move forward or backward. All of the backrest functions are working as are the up and down moves for the seat. The seat is as far back as possible. I pulled off the side trim and don’t see any physical obstruction on the inner or outer tracks. I looked at the switch and all the connectors seems to be firmly seated. When I move the front/back switch forward I can hear a click and feel a motor move under the forward bottom of the seat, so I am confident the motor is getting power. I checked on the passenger side and can feel this same motor activating when moving the passenger seat back and forward.
I am not the most mechanically adept guy, but this sounds like the suspect motor is getting power but may have stripped/broken gears or some other mechanical problem.
If the front/back motor is bad, how bad will a dealer hose me to fix it? How big a deal is it to switch the passenger and driver’s side motors?
