Awesome info on the Crux limitations Joe. Thanks for sharing the work around to keep it enabled. One of the many limitations that I had planned to correct was implanting a 2009+ OnStar VCIM module like you did in our 08 Denali. They were available as NOS on eBay for a while but I lost interest as well as the part number.

Now that I'm in the midst of swapping from a 08 to 09 truck, the BT issue is resolved. I revisited the Crux site and see that they have an interface for A2DP BT (music streaming) as well as smart phone mirroring so that Google Maps can be integrated into the factory Navi. It requires that 09+ OnStar BT compatible VCIM to broadcast the audio otherwise only the screen mirror / Google maps video will come through without sound.

I want to keep the OEM head unit in the 09 we just purchased because it's a theft deterrent in itself and the Crux can be camouflaged out of sight. With both of these new products it would seem you can stream audio and video content into all the factory view screens. I can see making my kids watch Google maps in live directions mode on their display if they ask "are we there yet?"
