Just in case anyone finds this via search, like I did, I had this same problem yesterday. Turns out a sorry excuse for a mechanic who replaced my power steering pump about 3 months ago wasn't careful when he installed the new pump, and in the process he pinched the wire bundle that passes right behind the pump.

Over the course of the last 90 days, the bracket attached to the steering pump slowly ate it's way through one of the bare wires (he must've broken the conduit during installation) and was grounding out on the bracket.

A little tape, some new conduit, and a couple of zip ties fixed my problem.

My symptom: my 10amp A/C Compressor fuse kept blowing.
