I'd think any of those items would set a code, especially with the newer vehicle?

They would. But seeing as how he had these same exact issues on a much older vehicles seems like there is more to the story then we know yet.

What is the possibility that you are pressing the brake pedal and gas pedal at the same time. Almost like a lazy foot. Or the way you are positioning your foot and it catches both pedals?
