unplug the front actuator so it would stop blowing the fuse and replaced the neutral safety ranger selector switch on the side of the transmission. i have the upgraded front actuator and such now but thats how i got it to shift from 4lo

Here are the diagnostic tables for that code on a 98. I’m not sure what, if any, changes were made between 97 and 98, but I would guess that it would apply to a 97. It uses a Kent-Moore jumper harness to test, but maybe something will be of use or give you some things to check. Hope this helps.

Today I took it to have the code read and it’s throwing p0502 speed sensor
