Going to change out the PCV integrated valve cover this weekend. Also changing the hose. Anything else I should do besides those two things? I'm not seeing leaks anywhere else so I should be good there. Just making sure there is nothing else I should do while I do those two items.

I switched both my Tahoe and Silverado back to the old 99-02 pcv valve covers and opened the drain holes up in them. The Tahoe never did use oil so it was preventative, but the Silverado was using 2 quarts per oil change. It stopped after the cover swap and has been good for over 100k miles.

I'm not sold on the catch can route just yet. I may reexamine that if too much oil is moving through the system after the switch.

Any further info on this? My Envoy is going thru oil, about 4 quarts per oil change, and it doesnt leak.

What info do you need?
I just went to the junkyard and got a pcv valve cover off of a 99 5.3 and put it on my 06.

Also, 4 qts per 3000 miles is probably something bigger than the valve cover issue.

I agree.. But its really weird.. I will do an oil change, fill it up to the full line (6 quarts). Check it 1-2 days later maybe 20-70 miles, and it will be down nearly 2 quarts. And from there is just goes down a little bit, maybe 1.5-2 quarts over the next 4500 miles. It does this every oil change, without fail.

Been doing this for over 110k miles. Motor is still un-opened since new, OEM cats/Muffs, OEM coils.. Even the brake system is OEM except pads and rotors.. Its actually been really shocking since it has 203k miles on it now.

Yeah, that's weird.
