im not ready for snow lols. my tires are bald. snow in a nother week or 2 and were good, ill have 35 bfg muds on there. idk where to put my spare either i took the stock out a long time ago after i raised rear bumper. i tried putting the stock tire on the roof one time... was no easy task dont want to even try a 35 lol. i dont think it would fit down low any more either. i always have my seats down but i may if i carry my spare all the time make like a false floor that goes above the tire and then its hidden and you can still put whatever ya need back there on top of it

a 35 will fit in the back and you can modify the original bracket to work with the now taller tire. (may be able to half ass it the way it is.)

i have a spare sitting in the garage ready to go into the hoe whenever i find the time to shave an inch or two off the width of the sub box and tweek the stock spare mount.

when you get the chance to pull the old (and pretty useless) stock spare out of your hoe you'll see how easy it is really. basically i plan to raise the actual "mount" section of the spare bracket to be level with the now higher rim center and push it toward the window about an inch. possibly just cut out the original vertical piece and weld in a piece of 1/4x4" flat plate, redrill for the hold down bolt. \

not looking forward to cutting down my sub box... pretty fond of how well it came out. :(

I keep thinking about a hitch tire carrier thinking that I can just remove it when I am staying around town. I would take it with me when I go play and if I make any longer trips. I just don't like the idea of giving up so much interior space. I have 2 kids, so space is at a premium.

a rear tire carrier bumper is in my plans for my truck, i love the look of them and they are pretty practical, to me at least, they make locks for the tires, actually you can use wheel locks if you want, i had one on my jeep and i used wheel locks and i had a spare tire cover so the tire and wheel wouldnt get all messed up by the elements, it worked great, i had a flat on a trail once and it is by far the easiest way to get to your spare, cause its right there and you arent picking it up off the roof or digging around through all the crap in the back to get it out, i was camping too so i had tents and bags and a whole bunch of stuff in the back of my jeep so it worked great

TAG makes a rear swing out bumper that matches my front winch bumper. its on the "to do" list but since its prolly a grand shipped up here, gonna be a minute.

spare will fit in the back where the old one was and not take up a whole lot more room in the long run. sure most of you don't store shit on top of the spare :D only loosing a few inches width wise.

I have a fold down, hitch mounted spare carrier that I like. Havent used it on the yukon yet cause it looks stupid with the stock spare, but when I get the 33's mounted up on my new rims, ill throw the new spare on the carrier. It slides into my receiver and is actually threaded to bolt in to eliminate vibrations. I can lock both my spare and my hi-lift jack on my rear carrier. Best part is that it's removeable, so whether i'm in my Yukon or my 78 Scout I can put the spare on the back, along with my jack.

Are there several places that sell the swing out tire carriers? I can only dig up one place on the internet? I know ive seen full metal bumbers that have a tire swing out attached. But cant find em. I really like the look of my spare on the roof, but even a 285 is a royal pain to lug off the roof in the mud/snow.

I actually do store quite a bit behind/under/in my spare...2 camp chairs, paper towels/hand cleaner, spare oil, tow strap, tie downs, jumper cables, and a couple miscellaneous rags.

but you won't lose the inside/behind space, should actually gain a little between the tire and the seat. :) only loose a couple inches of space width wise across the rear of the truck, more or less depending on your stock spare and if you modify the spare mount or not.

the TAG one looks good especially for only 500 that really is not bad. Shipping might kill it though.

will have to be shipped via a semi freight company. learned that one the hard way! haha probably could have driven down from Indiana and back for what it cost to ship it.

will have to say the front bumper is pretty impressive build wise. sure the rear won't disappoint.
