The center screen and radio on our 2026 Yukon AT4 will intermittently stay on after turning the truck off and exiting the driver seat. See below for several scenarios:

1. Turn truck off, open drivers door, exit driver seat with key in pocket, closed drivers door from outside, radio stayed running with center screen on indefinitely. Could never get it to stop.

2. Turn truck off, open drivers door with key in pocket, radio stayed running with center screen on, started truck, turned off truck, radio still on. Opened all doors, radio stayed running. Opened doors again and radio still on with center screen illuminated. Turned off screen manually.

3. Turn truck off, open drivers door, exit driver seat with key in pocket, closed drivers door from outside, radio still on with center screen illuminated. Opened driver door again, then closed, radio finally stopped playing and screen turned off.

Dealer claims they can replicate it, but thinks the recent software update "might" fix this. Concerned its more as we have an errant triple honk issue that also seems to be tied to doors closing, the truck sensing keys, etc. Has anyone else experienced these issues?

I just noticed it on my 26 Tahoe. After I got my latest oil change. I’ll have to check the firmware update date

Our dealer tried to download the latest software update 3 times and finally had to re-set the entire system to get it to download. Picked the truck up yesterday and pulled in the garage today, turned off the truck, closed the drivers door and the stereo and center stack stayed running AGAIN. Opened and closed the driver's door several more times and everything stayed on. Not sure if its coincidental or not, but eventually opened a second row door and it seemed to turn everything off. We're worried its going to just run and kill the battery every time it happens. Calling the dealer back with video proof tomorrow. Telematics module, drivers door sensor? Not sure

What happens when you lock the truck? Everything off? Then it’s normal

Is there a possibility that the proximity of the key fob is affecting this? What if the fob is moved far away from the vehicle?

You can lock and unlock the truck and everything stays on. You can start the truck again, turn it back off, close the door and lock, and everything stays on.

You can take the key far enough away that the proximity locks don't work, such as 20' away inside the house and everything stays on.

My 2024 Denali does this. Screen and radio stay on for ~5 mins after exiting the vehicle and locking it. Seems to happen for days in a row, then goes away for a few days, then comes back. I haven't tried to get the dealership to fix it, I've just accepted it's part of owning a GM product.

The dealer is contacting a GM engineer about ours because it won’t even time out after a fixed amount of time consistently. It appears it will run indefinitely and kill the battery if you don’t start, restart, put in drive/park, and open and close the doors until some odd and unpredictable combination of those actions triggers it to turn off.

This happens on my '25 Yukon. Its my wife's car, so I don't know how often it happens for her, but I've noticed it a handful of times when I take it fuel up. Also never consistent.

Supposedly GM directed the dealer to reprogram the telematics module, reset the head unit, and downloaded yet another software update. I'll report back if the paperwork gives any details and whether it appears to have solved our issue.

Definitely not normal...my 26 AT4 shuts everything off as soon as I open the drivers door including lowering of the air suspension until I shut the door and then the lowering resumes. I just never want to wait inside here in Phoenix for the suspension to lower after I turn off the key.

Despite all the re-programming, the center stack still stays on at random for up to 40 seconds or more. It's not consistent either... sometimes it goes off immediately upon opening the door, sometimes it stays on. I've tried unlocking the door before pulling the interior handle, and just opening the door using the manual override while its locked, and nothing seems to be consistent in causing it to turn off or stay on. We've even closed and locked the doors after everyone exits the vehicle and it will still stay running. For the last few days, we feel like we have to wait and watch through the windows at every stop, just to make sure it eventually times out and doesn't run continuously.
