2025 Diesel orders opened

My Duramax HC has the square exhaust outlets. Sounds the same as my ‘23 which only had one exhaust outlet.

Seems funny a straight 6 having quad exhaust tips. I get it though

Are people having issues with the 25 6.2L V8, or was that limited to prior years? If so, I’m going the diesel route, but I haven’t found any news to confirm 25 models are impacted with the engine issues.

I took delivery of my 2025 Yukon XL AT4 with 3.0L Duramax today. It’s fantastic!

Here’s my full timeline of order dates, status code changes, etc.

4/4 - Order submitted to dealer

4/24 - 2000 or 3000 - Order accepted

5/2 - 3000 - Order accepted

5/9 - 3100 - Order available to sequence

5/16 - 3400 - Order broadcast for production (loaded on assembly plant computers)

Target Production Week: May 26, 2025

5/31 - (3800) - GMC website says “Your vehicle has been produced.”

6/9 - 4200 - Order shipped (notified by dealer)

6/16 - 4B00 - Order at rail yard

6/18 - Vehicle at dealership waiting for PDI

6/20 - Vehicle purchased

Seeing your timeline confirms I may have gotten really lucky.... Had originally placed this order with a dealership in March and they just never received allocation.

***Called 7 dealers on May 6th looking for anyone with allocation for Z71 Suburban w/ 3.0 Duramax***


1 Dealer said they had the option to swap a 5.3 V8 order out for the 3.0 Duramax


May 6th, 2025 - 1100 - Preliminary order Accepted @ 1:51pm

May 6th, 2025 - 2000 - Accepted by GM @ 1:54 pm

May 6th, 2025 - 3000 - Accepted by Production Control @ 9:37 PM


May 20th, 2025 - TPW of June 2nd, 2025 (told by dealer)


June 4th, 2025 - 3400 - Order Broadcast for production (told by dealer)

June 11th, 2025 - 3800 - 4200 status - (told by dealer) Order Shipped - Currently in Laredo, TX (wrong, it was on their lot)

June 12th, 2025 - Vehicle is at dealership waiting for PDI

June 17th, 2025 - Vehicle Purchased
