2022 Yukon XL Heated Steering Wheel Retro Fit.

Two weeks ago I heard from a friend that they were starting the retrofit of the heated steering wheels. I reach out to my dealer since they told me I would get notification in the mail (which I did not) and they told me that the parts were available by order to complete the retrofit. I had them ordered and had the retrofit done last Friday. Finally. If your waiting I suggest you call your dealer and get it done. Do not wait for anyone to contact you!

My dealer told me that my VIN has to be tagged as eligible for the heated steering wheel retrofit before they can order the part(s). I'm not sure if I believe them, though, as my experiences with them thus far have been piss poor.

That is correct, my dealer has said the same to me, waiting 15 months now for these "promised" retrofits!!!

The dealer can only order it if your VIN has moved to the open status for the part. GM put out a letter (https://static.nhtsa.gov/odi/tsbs/2023/MC-10234151-0001.pdf) and mentioned that cold weather regions are being prioritized first with all expected to be done in 2023.
