2016 Tahoe overhead console hanging loose

The trailing edge of my over head console has come loose and is just hanging there. There was no sunglasses in the holder. I feel in the cavity of the glasses holder and it is open.

Anyone have a suggestion as to why it has dropped free and a fix?

There should be 2 screws under the panel, housing the middle switches. Those might be lose, may need to be tighten.

I think there might be two snap clips and they have failed. You could try firmly pushing up on the back portion and see if it catches. Otherwise might need a couple new clips.

Screws came lose from the metal clips that go into metal roof. They were the back ones as you describe. Had to pull down. The front is hard. You just have to pull. There will be 4 clips.

I took mine to the dealer. There are two clips that secure the console in place with screws. They replaced the current screws with larger diameter screws and that fixed the problem. They are well aware of this common problems. It was a no charge fix.

I modified a sticky pad with two wood dowel rods that I flocked to hold my sunglasses. More convenient and less likely to cause a problem.
