So I got everything together, I cleaned my engine up. Is my Tahoe supposed to run before I get it tuned? Because it won't run and I'm getting a bunch of codes as well as the one that I had when I started. I took a video of me trying to start it and took pics of the codes. I hope I'm closer to solving this issue after about $1400 and a lot of time and I think my grey highlights are permanent now. @Geotrash @Dustin Jackson

And I had the P0219 a&b before I started, is never figured it out, I had the P0300, and I just started getting the P0521 right before the rebuild but I didn't have time to address it yet and thought it might be from the AFM since it has the high pressure oil pump, guess not. The crazy thing is that after tearing that motor down and rebuilding it, it is doing the exact same thing that it was before the rebuild to cause me to rebuild. I have new lifters, trays, springs, seals, cam, can sprocket,, non AFM cover plate.fuel injectors, wires, coils, timing plate, cam sensor, oiI pump ,oil,, oil filter, antifreeze and gaskets, all the way down to the block. I wondered if I caused a problem making a mistake when I did the lifters but I was meticulous with this project and asked a lot of questions of the AMS Racing rep pertaining to the new stuff. I know that I did everything correctly so unless this all gets solved with a tune (I doubt) or in back to square 1. I leave in 4 days to go to California for 3 weeks for work. I need to drive this. I actually considered swapping the motor out of my 05 Tahoe LT, it's a 5.3 but the trans is trash. The motor runs like a top. I'm a glutton for punishment huh? That's again for the help guys

Congrats on getting it back together. You will need a tune to get it started. The tune will shut off both AFM and VVT and will need to be tweaked for the cam you installed. You may be able to get it started by leaving the old vlom manifold plugged in and tied off somewhere, but I don’t know first-hand because I haven’t tried it. But all of those P0010 codes are there because the ECM is looking for the vlom and it’s not there, obviously.

For the oil pressure sensor performance code, did you replace the oil pressure sensor as part of this work? If you were getting that code before you tore it down, that would have been a wise choice, but you can do it later. It won’t keep you from running. The fuel trim codes are usually caused by vacuum leaks which you would likely have solved by removing and reinstalling the intake manifold.

What is your plan for a tune or do you need help with suggestions?

Yes I do need assistance getting it tuned, I did get linked up with a member on this site by Dustin who can tune it over the internet but I need to try to go back through the messages to find it. When you say to hook the vlom back up to possibly get it started do you mean the plug that was in my old AFM plate?
