2012 Yukon Denali XL tailgate doesn't close when hot

My tailgate is completely functional when the temperature is low 80's and below but when it is much warmer outside, the tailgate has to be manually closed. This is regardless if I use the fob, console switch, or tailgate switch. I have already replaced the gas struts because one failed but that still hasn't fixed the problem.

Any insight would be appreciated.

Does this occur with the remote and the console switch?
