Wow.. Never heard of that! And never experienced it either with the 1+ year we had the suburban. Always acted the same.

Kirk.. Pretty sure all 6.2L trucks have the 6L80, the 5.3 has the 6L60.

That's what I suspected. Thanks. Well, with Felix complaining that it's "only a 6.2L" thing, and me complaining about mine, I think it's safe to say it's a GM 6-speed thing, regardless of engine size.

I have to agree with you on this. And, based on my experience with the first generation Equinox that had the Sport package (3.6 V6 and 6T70 trans) I would wonder if it's pandemic for GM's 6 speeds.

From what I understood it's something that started in 09 or 10.

so in 09/10 the GM transmissions were built with brains. Hmm. I think Cyberdyne is starting to spread. Machines are going to rule the world sooner that I thought.

Serge, I'm gonna have to recruit your services next time I'm looking for a GM truck! Hahaha, I don't think you're capable of being ripped off.....

Okay so a little update on these two issues now that I've had her for almost three weeks ...

- The dimming issue is still there, but I guess I got used to it cause I don't notice it anymore. I was still going to buy this Big 3 kit: http://www.edesignaudio.com/product_info.php?cPath=1_76_28_56&products_id=164 Maybe someone can confirm that this is indeed what I need.

- Much to my surprise, the service manager was right and the transmission has greatly improved since 'learning' my driving style. It's still not perfect by any means but I have about a month to go till the end of a 'learn' cycle ... with the more aggressive acceleration I am implementing I'm hoping that by the end of the cycle the issue will be as minimal as can be expected.

I have noticed the shifting lag on my '09 Denali and it seems to go away with better gas. I live in Milwuakee, WI and we have to use "reformulated gas" because of EPA air quality emission issues in a 5 county area. It causes a hit to my fuel mileage too. When I travel and get non-reformulated gas the shifting issues go away and the fuel mileage gets better.
