That split is by design- no issue there.

I did my best to try and catch the whistle this morning, but I ran back into my garage after starting the car up, grabbed my stethoscope, but had no luck. I couldn't narrow down where it was coming from.

I saw another thread I think it was on this site, where it was the a/c belt tensioner. Tonight when I get home, I'm going to pull the a/c belt off and see it the whistle persists. I just replaced that tensions back in May of this year though...

UPDATE: I was able to catch the whistling, it is the ac belt tensioner. I bought the part off amazon, its an OEM GM part, any idea how to get it replaced under GM parts warranty?
