Then either do a complete passive system with new rear springs and shocks, or just bite the bullet for a good GM pump and lifetime warranty air shocks. If the originals lasted this long-ish, then you should be good to go with a replacement of the same stuff with many years of use to be enjoyed. I personally like the air suspension, the ride is great

I cut my teeth on a dealer demo 06 YXL Denali. Had it for two years and sold it for $10k less just before another gas hike. Denali in good nick are hard to find in that Gen now. They are bulldogs.

The kids outgrew our Audi allroad wagon w/ rear facing 3rd row seat & 6MT in ‘14 so we shopped for another 06 Denali. None to be had in SoCal. Looked closer at the 07-09 Denali. Saw 07/08 were $20k. 09 and up jumped 8-$30k, even for 100k example.

The 08 YXL Denali w/ 98K for $20k we got in ‘14 was essentially a detuned Vette implanted in a AWD truck with the Escalade badges removed. In ‘20 we sold it for $12.5k w/ 140k mi due to upcoming gas crunch.

It was replaced w/ a 09 Esky Plat @ 140k for $14k. Over 3 years later it’s literally paid for its purchase price by filling up w/ the e85 motor that started in 09. At close to 180k now the non AFM 6.2L/6L80 have been amazing.

The major services everyone knows about have a secret. They’re about 75-80% cheaper when completed when the trans is pulled for major service and OEM parts are sourced online and installed by an Indi. This year at 170k the Esky got a new $5k trans and it was only $1.5k to do about $5k+ worth of deferred maintenance & parts.

e85 extends the oil change interval clock and eliminates all carbon deposits that piss’ off the motor’s perf & longevity. I took the long way around the block on this but yes, the 6L80 / 6.2L combo in 07/08 and especially in 09, with e85 and no AFM are still undervalued and so damn easy to maintain for this much truck.

Roger zero niner you’re going in heavy. Your flaps are up and gear is down. Highly advise bail out with parachute, NOT the Dora the Explorer backpack currently wearing.
