Need to replace the rear axle bearings and oil seals. Have gotten the Eaton G80 locker down to having the pin removed and trying to get the C clip off the end of the axles. NO GO.

Cannot push the axles in far enough to get the C clips out. Only need about two thousands more travel.

I am told that this cannot be done at home because of the fact that the 2005 ABS sensor thing is inside the axle tubes on outboard end! Anyone know a GM Tech???

Strike the axle with a rubber mallet or deadblow mallet towards the differential. Might need more than a "tap". Might have to give it a nice blow or 3. It should give you enough clearance to get the c-clips out. They come out but hardly ever without a bit of persuasion.

Tried that. Didn't work. Thanks.

They went in to begin with, they have to come out, RIGHT?

Seals may have swelled. Might need someone to do the pounding for you while you try to pop the clip at the same time. I've run into it before man times.
