Hello, I'm a newbie, I write from Italy.
I am not be able to link a new fob (transmitter) to my Tahoe 2001: I made the following instructions but unsuccessful.

1.Close all vehicle doors.
2.Insert the key into the ignition.
3.Hold down the power UNLOCK button on the driver’s door panel-continue to hold
down until instructed to release in step 9.
4.Perform steps 5 through 8 in fairly rapid succession.
5.Turn the ignition switch to the ON position (as far as you can go without starting the
engine).
6.Turn the ignition switch to the OFF position.
7.Turn the ignition switch to the ON position.
8.Turn the ignition switch to the OFF position.
9.Release the power unlock button on the door panel. The vehicle will lock and unlock
the doors automatically.
10.Hold down the LOCK and UNLOCK buttons on the transmitter simultaneously until
the door locks and unlocks.
This step may take up to 30 seconds.
11.Repeat step 10 NOW for each additional transmitter (including any existing
transmitters).
12.Turn the ignition switch to the ON position in order to exit the transmitter programming mode.

Someone could help me?
Thank you
Giovanni

The real problem is that, performed the first steps (Unlock hold, on-off-on-off) the car does NOT lock and unlock by itself to pass in to the programming mode. Maybe a problem with the car and not with the fob??? :emotions122: :emotions122:

That all sounds correct, I believe all gmt800 tahoes have keyless...it could be the receiver is just not working. I'm not sure where its located on these trucks.

I did all the steps several times, I think in the correct way: as I wrote, the car doesn't lock-unlock after the "U key hold down/ON-OFF-ON-OFF" operation....
The second fob is the same of the working one... :emotions122: :emotions122:

try different key positions, i know when i had to do mine in my Grand am, i had to go from off to accessory and back, i think it should only need to go one "tick" so if you go off to accessory and back again, that might work, if not, try accessory to on, or something similar, i am pretty sure you can only go one tick though.

I had the same problem with my Yukon, the dealership said that the Body Control Module was faulty. I didn't feel like spending $500 for them to replace it, so I'm just going to buy an aftermarket alarm system w/ keyless entry.

i just got a compustar pro 2 way alarm/start installed in my truck for $650 CAD.

Nothing good, I tried in every key's position, but NULL!
So, I think not to have the remote keyless reciever in my car, but I don't know if I could find someone with the "scan tool device" here in Italy....
Maybe I could change the alarm system??
