I have owned a 2 door Yukon/Tahoe since the year 2000. I recently acquired a 98' Chevy Tahoe 2 door with 190,000 miles immaculate undercarriage from FL. I would like to get the newest late model donor truck I can find that I can swap Drive train, dash etc. I will either update my seats or if new ones will swap I will take them. Has anyone pulled this off before? What year and model trucks should I be looking for? Chevy, GMC, Escalade? I would like the bells and whistles of a new truck in the look of my bad ASS 2 door.

You can start by googling "5.7 to 5.3". It's not something I've looked into but I have definitely seen around different forums.
Clean looking Tahoe.

I didn’t find any more info about the interior swap

I'm not familiar about the swap, but an awesome looking truck. Have any interior shots? Welcome btw.

My post was for the drivetrain part.
I don't think I have seen anyone do major interior modifications besides dropping in new seats from the GMT800s and refreshing what's already in our GMT400s.

Nice find , and looks well taken care of. Love those wheels. My cousin has them on his 06 silvy.

Hi,

I am finishing up the total gut restoration of a 1998 2-door I acquired in the fall. I did the GMT 800 front seat swap and a new 350 motor. While the LS motor is great I couldn't justify the idea of spending more money on a used motor or $6-8K on a new motor.

I should have the truck back next week and intend to post pics here. I posted in the fall a list of what I intended to do, which is pretty much exactly what I did. PM me if I can help.

PS - Mine also was at 190,000 and was from AZ so also had an undercarriage that looked factory new.

Thanks
