Hi Guys, have a question

is it 10 speed + lockup or
9 speed + lockup

Last “gear” giving me a slight rumble around 40MPH , wonder if it’s the torgue converter stressing out due to it running at 1000RPM.

anyone notice this ?
in manual mode if I drop to 9 it’s gonzo but RPM’s don’t really change

It is a 10sp but 9th and 10th are very close in ratios.

The gear ratios of the 10-speed transmission are:

  • First: 4.70
  • Second: 2.99
  • Third: 2.15
  • Fourth: 1.80
  • Fifth: 1.52
  • Sixth: 1.28
  • Seventh: 1.00
  • Eighth: 0.85
  • Ninth: 0.69
  • Tenth: 0.64
  • Reverse: 4.87

Lately I feel like I can feel a little shudder in ours too in the higher gears

I have the banks idash gauge and the duramax. Have noticed it does not go into 10 until 62 mph or higher.

I can reproduce the vibration in just about any gear now at around 1200RPM, very low throttle input, flat road, worst is at 43MPH exactly.

Feel it in the seat / floor mainly.

From reading my guess is the fluid change cure it.

The fluid change seems real simple on this truck, pretty easy access.

Just over 5000 miles, my favorite truck sofar.

That few miles id take to dealer and have them investigate further. There may be something else going on.

Yes, Dealer looking at it Monday, plan is to swap fluid first.

From looking under the Yukon easy DYI access for future, our 2016 MB GLE ATF fluid change is a royal pain in the butt to do compared to this one. (and the “gold” fluid is worth a fortune)
